Booking for these classes is essential!  The classes are £9.50 per class, payable half termly.  If you stay on for the following half term you will gain a £5 loyalty discount and if you are unable to make your class one week you may swap onto another, so that you don’t miss out having paid for the half term.  There is also the option to catch up with a Zoom recording so that you never have to miss out

What is Fitness Pilates?

Pilates is a safe and effective set of mat-based exercises designed to improve inner strength, posture, flexibility, mobility and mental clarity.

Pilates was created in the 1920s by Joseph Pilates, who said, “After ten sessions you’ll feel better, after twenty sessions you’ll look better and after thirty, you’ll have a whole new body!” Fitness Pilates is an evolved version of the original thirty-four Pilates exercises and turns it into a more contemporary and functional system of exercises, which flow from one to the other creating moves that strengthen the muscles you use in every day life, making your every day movements easier. This inner core strength gives a sense of stability and confidence to your well-being and it’s definitely something you won’t want to lose as life goes on. “Pilates for life” is a phrase I often like to use, “use it or lose it” is another.
A Fitness Pilates workout is for everyone, whether you’re a beginner or super fit. Sessions can be run on a 1:1 basis, in an intimate class format, or with small groups of friends at home and online. Here are some of the benefits:

Ante/Postnatal Ladies

I specialise in helping postnatal mums return to fitness by safely and gently introducing the correct exercises to rebalance and strengthen the pelvic organs after carrying a baby and childbirth.  Having experienced one myself, I can help to heal a Diastasis Recti (abdominal separation). Antenatal ladies can also join classes or can be assured that if they attend ANY of my classes, they will be given the relevant teaching points and alternative exercises, in order to make sure the exercises are relevant and safe whilst carrying their baby.
Many new mums don’t understand the importance of making sure their abdominal muscles close up properly before returning to more strenuous exercise and my classes will help them understand all about this. Diastasis Recti is a condition that most women have once they have given birth, but given time and the correct exercises, this condition goes away naturally. If the abdominal wall is stressed too early, however, a problem could occur leaving a weak core, a hole between the abdominals, back pain, a “pregnant” looking tummy and back aches.
All face-to-face classes are run as half-termly courses, and booking is essential as there are limited spaces on each course.

After very few sessions, you will notice less back pain and discomfort, and even without trying you will start to stand taller and sit with a better posture.

With Pilates now being recognised by doctors, physiotherapists, chiropractors and osteopaths as the solution to many back and joint problems, including injury rehabilitation, I am delighted to offer 9 classes in Welwyn Village, with the help of Seeko who teaches the Monday evening class, to help you solve these problems. When your body doesn’t feel good, you don’t feel good, so curing any issues will make you happier, healthier and even feel younger.

There is no age limit to Fitness Pilates and my clients range from teens to ninety-plus. Indeed, I’m exceptionally proud of the participants in my Super Seniors class on a Wednesday morning, whose flexibility and stamina would put many twenty-somethings to shame!
